Extensive gold deposits were discovered in the Rogue River in the early 1850s. Miners from around the West traveled to Southwest Oregon to mine the rich placers along the mighty Rogue River. The richest section of the river was around Gold Hill, Grants Pass, Galice and farther downstream into the area now known as the Hellgate Recreation Area. The Rogue River Mining District is still a popular area for gold panners. This is the perfect soft & comfortable t-shirt for the SW Oregon gold prospector.
