Mojave Desert Gold Prospecting T-Shirt

The Mojave Desert is one of the harshest environments in the United States. Despite it's inhospitality, this region saw considerable gold mining activity during the mid-1800s. The town of Oatman now one of the largest tourist draws in the region, but for a time it was also the leading gold producer in the entire state of Arizona. Smaller placer deposits were later found around Meadview at Gold Basin. Other rich gold strikes were made at Chloride and Union Pass. In Southern Nevada, the Searchlight gold strike caused a gold rush to the Mojave.
